Getting Ready for the AYPE

Because anti-Chinese attitudes ran high in the United States in the early 1900s, the Chinese government did not sponsor an exhibit at the AYPE. The well-known and respected Seattle Chinese community leaders, Goon Dip and Ah King were instrumental in organizing China Day and the Chinese Village for the exposition.
